RSS‑Gen Requirements for Radio Equipment Compliance in Canada
What RSS‑Gen Requires for Radio Equipment Compliance in Canada
RSS‑Gen establishes the general requirements for compliance of radio apparatus in Canada. In addition to device‑specific RSS standards, RSS‑Gen sets requirements for labeling, user information, and test conditions.
Manufacturers must ensure that bilingual (English/French) compliance notices are included where required, and that labeling conforms to current standards. Where applicable, devices must also meet SAR and RF exposure requirements as outlined in RSS‑102 (updated 2025).
Compliance with RSS‑Gen is mandatory for certification under RSP‑100, and applicants should review both documents together when preparing submissions.
